Ermida de Nossa Senhora da Saúde - North of Tavira Algarve Portugal.The origens of this church date back to the 15th Century where Paulist Monks settled in 1448 and stayed until 1606.

It dates back to the 15th century when the hermits of São Paulo were settled here in 1448, having remained until 1606, when they moved to the Tavirense convent of Our Lady of Help. From the 16th century remains the triumphal arch, with stonework decorated with late-Gothic motifs. After the earthquake of 1755 was rebuilt and redecorated the chancel, with a new altarpiece and tile panels representing the “Worship of kings” and the “Escape to Egypt”. In the 19th century, after the extinction of religious orders, the temple was acquired by the brotherhood of Our Lady of Health, which promoted works on the façade in 1881. Attached to the hermitage stood out, a few years ago, the fountain of the mid-eighteenth century, dedicated to Our Lady of Health, with interesting mass works where a dolphin and a large shell flanked by two boys. This interesting element would later, because of its destruction.
